About The Author

Hi everyone, my name is Vlad. I've been blogging for awhile, it is just my way of keeping a hopefuly daily journal (isn't it funny how guys call it a "journal" and the ladies call it a "Diary").

I was born in Romania some 20 something years ago in a large city 30 or so miles away from Bucharest (the capital). I have a sister ( I love you Iri ), two supportive parents and an awesome cat named Kiki. While growing up I was your run of the mill average Joe, I was smart and I had lots of potential but not very focused and a bit lazy.

I am grateful for my life in Romania, for my friends and I am happy to have experienced that culture.

When I was 15 years old I moved to Central Pennsylvania. A beautiful mountain town, with ski slopes and great people (some of them wore more conservative than the Pope but we can't all be perfect). Two weeks after that I started High School, some of my best years of my life.

One of my dreams, ever since I was a child, was to become a pilot. I started flying lessons in November 2005 and I've flying ever since. In May 2007 I became a fully licensed pilot.

After I graduated High School, I applied and got accepted to Penn State University. I went there for 18 months, living the good life, going to concerts, clubbing, dancing, and working at Best Buy.

In August of this year I moved to a medium sized town in North Texas (12 miles from the Oklahoma border). Even though we voted 70%-30% in favor of McCain, our county is and island of democracy in an ocen of republican followers. Neighbouring counties voted for McCain in the 85 - 90% range :).

I'm pretty sure there are more cows than people here, and I finally understand what all those rednecks jokes are about. On the other hand, the university here is a great value, with good professors and friendly staff (and I still work at Best Buy - A much more redneck version of it, but Best Buy nevertheless)
