About my year in Europe (2009)

In the US you are expected to move-out at 18. You still live with your parents? That means you are some kind of mama's boy loser. In Romania on the other hand, guys are expected to live with their parents until they get married.

I'm sad to inform you that I'm one of those "losers" ... and here are the reasons why:

  1. Instead of living on my own and spending all my money on bills, I would rather invest that in my flying career (and at 170$/h of flight time, I need all the help I could get)
  2. It's comfortable, I don't worry about bills and I don't worry about cooking my own food.

On the other hand I feel that this is hindering my evolution, it is slowing me down. I feel that my lack of real world challenges makes me weaker as an individual, and that this family cocoon doesn't help me achieve the maturity level necessary to run a family when that time comes.

Fortunately I was offered the chance to change this. Next year I will live, and study in Europe. It is the opportunity I was looking for, it is time for me to step-up and face the world. It is time for me to be THE MAN.

France and Spain here I come!
